T'all drums

I wouldn't get Gary too worked up about it. I have the
weird drums, too, on my '67 1000B. I think I have them
on both parts t'alls, too. I haven't checked yet.

I forget what year truck Gary is looking at. The listing for
'62-'67 is probably wrong, one of the "improvements"
listed for the 1000B is the Dana 44, and some book claims
this is why they went to the wide circle (Jeep/Ford) 5-bolt.

However, I have a friend that swears he has a 65 with the 5 1/2 inch circle. I don't believe him <g>

The reason he shouldn't get too worried is:

1) The 11 inch drum is readily available, it must have been used by the Big 3 (or AMC). When I went looking for mine (yes,
I went through this, too), they had the listed one in stock.

2) They had pretty high production numbers for '67, so they *must* be out there. Yeah, I had a hard time finding one, too, I just don't know why. And if "they" aren't out there, then the 11" backing plates should be, at least.

3) There are places that make brake drums, just like there are places that make wheels to spec. Probably expensive.

4) This isn't a real high-tech vehicle. You could put a Dana 44 from something more commone under there if absolutely necessary.

What I'm saying is, that if the truck is really nice, I just don't think you have to worry about it turning into a lawn ornament just because of a brake drum.
