Learning how to plug a tire is NOT an acceptable solution because the real need for a compressor is because sometimes
you have to air-down your tires to get unstuck.  And those
pathetic electric compressors won't re-fill 4 36 inch tires in
a week of Sundays.  Therefore, somebody thought up the
A/C compressor idea, and I suspect that traction is the
primary reason for the Hummer's CTIS, not repairs.

And instead of a far-out daydream, Tom's Scout CTIS is
the logical, if admittedly not pratical, next step.
