IH EGR valves...
Curt et al,
IH had a habit of stockpiling and pre-ordering parts for model years.
Check the vehicle production date, and chrology those dates with the exsistence
of EGR valves or not. My guess is that those later in '75 began to have the egr
manifold, though it was not required on the '75 model year vehicles. My '75
Spreadbore Tquad 392 T'all has no egr valve, and I forgot the prod. date. My '76
2bb 345 scout has the EGR, and the prod. date is Feb 76.
Did the conversion from 5400 to 6200 GVW entail the availability of an
EGR modification to be completed if the EPA hollers?

Hey IH'ers!
There's something that's been bugging me that I don't understand. Both my
Scout and my Travelall are '75s, but the Scout has an EGR and the Travelall
doesn't. I know the Scout GVW was raised to 6200 lbs. in '75 to avoid some
emissions equipment requirements (air pumps? catalytic converters?) - was
there another weight cutoff that removed the need for an EGR? The Travelall
GVW isn't that much more (6900), so that doesn't seem like the answer. Does
anybody know?
