I didn't mean that to be a wise crack although as I read it now it appears that
way...my apologies.
I've been reading that there are others who have been able to get up to 8 quarts
in their engines after that type of total draining. I have never heard of that.
Is there anyone out there who has seen similar results with a 325i e30?

My point is that I have never heard of anyone going to such lengths to
drain oil from their engine during a change.
I didn't mean this to be in any way offensive, if that is how it may
have been perceived.
I am truly interested to hear what justification there is in doing this.
