brake light circuit failure warning

I just had this on my 94 325. The most likely culprit is the switch (a $40+
part!) especially if it wasn't replaced under recall. But before you shell out
the big bucks, try this: Replace any bad bulbs, and remove and put back the
good ones, too. This will sometimes clean up the contacts and the warning will
go away. It worked for me.
