Shift knob removal. another question

Well, I am prepared for the possibility of a broken nose, bruised forhead and
such.. LMAO,
anyone know what aftermarket brand of knob I should use, since most these days
seem to thread onto the shaft, and from what I understand the bimmer ones
dont. I think I want something that is metallic, maybe a brushed aluminum one
or something

Cheers

The helmet recommendation is part of the correct procedure, but if you have
couch seats and use the armrest as a leverage point, you will hit you nose
and not your forehead. I watched it happen 5 years ago to a friend in his
E36 and I am still roflmao. Fortunately he understood.
