New car, new list member

Hello all, 

I've been a member of the BMW Motorcycle list for
years now, but this will be my first post to the car
list.

The reason I joined the list is that I just picked up
an 84 325e for $900.  The car is a bit of an oddball,
it has an '88 motor,and, as you'd guess for $900, is
pretty rough looking.  The car does drive well and has
a new tranny and clutch as well.

I'm trying to decide what to do to the car, I'm
considering gutting it and turning it into a Solo2
autocrosser.  Or, I may try to fix it up a bit.

If I fix it up, other than the paint and cosmetics,
I've noticed that the sunroof is stuck (but the
electric motor works), only one of the electric
windows works,  and although the air is functional,
there's a terrible noise behind the dash when I turn
it on....

Anyway, that's enough for now. Any suggestions are
welcome!
