3.0 to 4.0 conversion

Hi all.
I am buying a 95 4.0 V8 out of a 540ia to put in my 95 530i 5spd. Has anybody
done this? Can I use the wiring harness & DME from my car with a Conforti chip
for remaping? Should I get the wiring harness off the 540ia anyway? Anybody
know how I can contact Jim Conforti? Who makes the best aftermarket exhaust
for this application? Any and all suggestions are welcome. TIA
