E34 mirror electrics

One of my E34 door mirrors does not work. It is the passenger
door in a UK car. i.e. the opposite side to the control switch.
It sounds like there is a little "click" in the drivers mirror when
trying to operate the passenger one???
Do I start with the control switch?
I have plenty I can swap!
