E36 blower on the blink

I would first look for a bad ground. Bentleys should give some idea where
to look. It may be a loose or shorted wire as well. Good luck!

Having some "fun" with the AC/heater blower on my 93 325is (170k). Over the
summer, every once in a while, it simply wouldn't work. The A/C would be
fine and the compressor clicked on every time, but no blower motor at any
speed. Then, after a restart or while driving down the road, it would kick
on and be fine until turning off the car. At that point, it would work 9 out
of 10 times and was merely a nuisance, like my sunroof....
Now, of course since it's in the 20s and I need heat, the blower will NOT
work 9 out of 10 times. (Actually, it works even less than that.) The fuse
is fine, and the heat seeps out on it's own.
Is it something easy, or is it the motor just worn out? Any ideas or similar
experiences are appreciated.
