I just bought my second 740i.  What a great car...for what I need!  I drove a 
used 740i sport and it was great for a 7.  The 540i is different car.  It is 
a powerful sports car. Fun all the way around.  You can drive it hard and get 
the rally car out of it or drive it easy and have a commuter...but why?

I didn't buy either for the same reason I sold my chipped 325i,  3 teenagers 
driving.  The 95 740i will do just fine for now!
