E30: Fuel smell in passanger compartment - repost

Sorry to repose this but someone pointed out I forgot to add model and
year:

'88 325iX

I'm getting a strong odor of unbunt fuel in the passanger compartment
when the engine is cold.  Once it warms up, the smell is gone.

Could anyone hazzard a guess what might be causing it?
