re:just one wire

Your BMW dealer will sell the individual spark wire ends (plug or
distributer), the crimp connectors that attach them, and the wire (by the
foot).

The ends have a 4mm male snap connector stud that engages a female part
crimped to the wire. To remove a connector, lube a thin tool like an awl
with pure (water-free) silicone, insert it along side the wire, then
rotate it around the wire while lubbing as required with silicone. Then
just pull straight and hard.

If the female snap connector is damaged, get the screw-machined part from
the dealer and crimp of solder it. Then lube the wire and new end with
silicone and push until it snaps on. Resist the temptation to fill the end
with dielectric grease, you won't be able to push the wire in. The
silicone is just for lube and water repellence.

Most BMW wires use a 5000 ohm resistor in the plug end and a 1000 ohm
resistor in the distributer end. Check for about 6000 ohms end-to-end.
