Convertible Top Replacement

I have a 1988 325ic. The top is in fairly good condition, however, the
stitching is gone. I have made several hand sewn repairs and have finally
decided to replace the top. I do most of my own auto repairs and wonder if it
would be a good idea to attempt the replacement myself? I have a Bentley
manual and am reading up on it now. If so where is the best place to buy the
replacement top and how much can I expect to pay.
