soon to be BMW guy has question

Hello folks:

I'm new to the digest and have never owned a BMW.  I'm
considering the purchase of an '89 735il and have not
been successfull in finding a lot of information (even
on the web) on this automobile.  Could someone tell me
what to look for?  The car I'm considering appears to
be a good deal but I don't want a "too good to be
true" deal.  Help?
