I don't know the beginning of this thread and this might be total unrelevant.
But . . .
My car is a 1996 E36/5 328ti
When at the track I was unable to get into 3rd from 4th at the end of
the straight. I would just coast around the turn with the clutch in.
Same problem going from 5 to 4. Not a very warm and fuzzy feeling,
especially with people on my tail.
I replaced the tranny mounts with 320i mounts.
All the world of a difference.
I can now go 5-4-3 with no problems.
This only related to the track, I never had a problem on the street.
Except for last ti I had used to pop out of 2nd, particularly when
very damp or cold. Tranny replaced under warranty.
