Snap-On Compression tester on E28 M5

Hello,
    I wanted to check the compression in my E28 M5 using a friend's Snap-On 
MT308L compression tester set.  I think that I need an adaptor (EEPV306A) for 
the 12mm threads of the Bosch plugs.  Has anyone else used this set on the 
'88 M5?
