1997/1998 528i owners with thermostats /water pumps replaced

Would like to hear from anybody who has had the following replaced on their 
1997 & 1998 528i/528ia's:

water pump
thermostat
thermostat housing.

Please provide details on your complaints when this was found to be the 
problem. IN or OUT of warranty? How many times? Symptoms?
