<E39> Halogen headlight to Xenon headlight upgrade?

Does anyone know if it is possible on a E39 ('97 5 series) to change out
standard halogen headlight assemblies with the e39 Xenon headlight
assembly? Is it easily possible or will I need other components (ie
leveling sensor, electrical relays, etc) or hack up the wiring harnesses to
get it to work?
