What model do I have?

This might seem silly, but:

I've got a 1990 535i.  The strange part is that the
rear seats have no headrests, nor are there any
"slots" for headrests.  I thought that all of the USA
cars had rear headrests, and hence my confusion.

Did some USA cars come without rear headrests, or is
this car from "somewhere out there"?
