89 535 cassette broken

The cassette player on the stock sound system of my 89 535 is broken.  After
inserting the cassette, It "seems" (from the sounds it makes) like the system
thinks that it has reached the end of the tape and gets into an infinite loop of
cycling through the sides of the tape.  The system does not respond to the FF/RW
switch.  Radio works perfectly.

Is there  hope of fixing this. Are the places in Silicon valley that you guys
recommend for fixing this.  Is it worth fixing..
