'90 525i heater blower

I have lost the heater blower motor.  Started growling and then stopped 
working so I guess I will have to replace it.  How does it come out?  Is it 
behind the panel at the back of the engine like on the E-30's?  I changed the 
one in my 318i a few years ago and it was pretty straight forward.
