Ok, Jim. You might want to reconsider those Porterfield pads and just enjoy
wearing that handsome new blazer for a while! I talked to a couple of
people who had Porterfields and they said they did have less dust, but it
was 6-10 days instead of 2-3 days that the tires were blackened - yes, still
blackened, and one or two people had squealing problems - to which
Porterfield wouldn't take them back like Repco does. I'm on the fence
again. I don't want the possibility of squealing every other time I brake!
We didn't buy these gorgeous, quiet cars to hear squealing brake noise. I
might just stick with stock for a while till Repco builds a better mousetrap
for me. Their pads are organic so the dust is white - doesn't show up on the
wheels hardly at all!!! I'm just not convinced investing $250 plus labor
(ouch) to get less dust but the "potential" for squealing pads is worth the
risk. I guess I lose to the elbow grease devil again.
Let me know and all of us on the digest if you get those pads! Maybe some
of these people were the few and far between.
Steve
