Boost formula, gaskets etc.

- - Does anyone know what is the formula to figure the equivalent mechanical
compression ratio of an engine under a certain boost.?

- - Does a thicker (aftermarket) head gasket exists for the M42 engine (318 16v)?
Or a spacer plates? Or the only way to lower the mechanical compression of an
engine is by changing the pistons?

- - Do pistons with 8.5 or 9.0 CR exists as "of the shelf" parts or it's only hand
made of racing??
