Cleaning Question

	I have a 96 328i.  The black, let's call it plastic, strip around
the rear and front bumpers looks crummy because of the car polish I managed
to slop over onto it when last polishing the car.  Does anyone know of a
product which will removed this dried, white polish without harming the
bumper strips themselves?  Alcohol, paint thinner, bug & tar remover?
