i have a stock '95 318i convertible which i love very much, even though it's
an auto. but lately i've found it a little slow, especially from 35 to 70mph
(merging speed).
i had a stock '93 318is, and found it more than quick enough for my commute
(but it was a 5 speed). is there anything i can do to make the auto quicker
and more responsive, or do i just need to sell it?
maybe a k&n air filter, a new muffler, and a dinan chip upgrade
(advice/model info appreciated).
alternately, is it feasible to have a dealership or speed shop replace the
auto with a five speed, or should i just sell it and buy a car with a stick.
it seems to me that replacing the transmission would be less expensive the
selling and buying another car.
respond privately, and i'll post the consensus to the digest later.
thanks
