<E34> faulty headlights (low beam)

Hi folks.

Just to introduce myself to you, my name is Ole Jørgen Mæland ("OJ"
among friends), and I have been following this list for nearly a decade
now (how long has it existed BTW?), but I haven't been active in posting
to the list. I live in Tromsø
(http://www.destinasjontromso.no/eng_default.htm) in Northern Norway
where we had 2.17 metres (>7"1') of snow last winter!! But the bimmers
is excellent winter cars. :-)

At the time I have two bimmers, an '83 528i (E28) and an '88 535 (E34).
The older one has almost 300kkm (~185k miles) on it an is for sale. The
535 has 163k km (~100k miles). I have som pictures of the 535 here:

Well, the reason for my post is that the low beam headlights on the 535
seems to work only when their in the mood. They are turning themselves
on and off whenever they feel like when I am driving. I can't seem to
find a pattern either. When I turn them on it's a 50% chance that they
really turns on.

Any suggestions??
