M20 oil experience

Hi there,

I just want to share my personal experience with different oils in M20 =
(2l /
2.5l) engines:
I live in a region where we have during summer 15 to 30=B0C, in winter =
5 to
- -15=B0C.

On a previous owned 320i E30 I ran Castrol GTX3 - it burnt 0.5l / =
1000km.
After going to Castrol TXT (5w40) it burnt 0.5l / 2500km - what an
improvement.

Till now I ran the TXT (5w40) also on my project car

(E21 with 2.7l i-engine) and had always troubles with the oil pressure =
- -=20
with hot oil (85+=B0 Celsius) the warning light came on at idle (also =
after
swapping the conrod bearings)=20
and the max. pressure was max 3.5bar during operation.

With last oilchange I went to Castrol RS (10W60 full synthetic) - now I =
have
1.5bar at idle and 4.5 bar during operation
with hot oil (85+=B0) - what a difference.
