It is a completly bolt on job, I did it to an '84 325e.
Get the following from a 5 spd parts car:
Transmission
Driveshaft
Shifter assy.
Clutch/Brake padal assy.
Flywheel.
I recomend new parts for the following:
Clutch master and slave cylinders
Clutch Hydraulic lines (pressure, and line
from resevior).
Clutch disc and pressure plate
To get hydraulic fluid to your clutch master cyl, you'll
note that the take off is on your resevior, you just have
to cut the solid end off of it.
As for the procedure for installing the above, as the maual goes,
installation is the reverse of removal (get a bently manual if you don't
already have one, it is well worth it).
