Radar detector mounting

Does anyone have experience with the Whistler 2290 Radar Detector?

I want one I can mount in a nice location, and while Valentine 1 is 
supposed to be the best of the best, I think it's kind of ugly 
looking. The Whistler has sensor mounts for behind the grill or under 
the bumper for front and back, and you can mount it in dash as if 
it's a piece of stereo equipment. So it sounds like what I'm looking 
for, but wondered what others thought.

There is also the 3300 which is similar, but I'm not sure where I'd put it.
