83 528e questions

Hi.  My 83 528e has a few new problems I would like input on.

1.  The oil light flickers at low idle while in gear.  The oil is not
low, but it is old.  I was going to change the oil and filter, should I
try for heavier weight oil to get the pressure up?  I was also thinking
the sending unit could be old, it is pretty cheap, I was thinking of
replacing it anyway.

2.  The turn signals are blinking very slowly and sometimes speed up and
slow down, both do the same thing.
