Headlight-on reminder chime

1980's vintage BMWs do not have a "Headlights-on" reminder chime. Hence my
wife has drained her battery several times over the last year or so as she
walks away from her car. The corner/parking lamps stay on and completely
drain the battery. Has anyone discovered an aftermarket device (or any
other device/remedy) for this problem (no I cannot divorce myself from the
problem and she loves her iX). Any help out there?? Thanks.
