Will '85 528e automatic trans work in '89 325i?

Hi All,

I have a friend with an '89 325i with a bad automatic tranny, and I have a
spare 528e transmission from an '85.5 528e.  This is the one with the 4
speed automatic.  Is it the exact same transmission that the 325i uses or
is it different?  It appears to be a direct replacement.  Please let me
know... Thanks!
