Thanks to all who replied to my question!

It seems the unamimous opinion of those to replied that you should 
*not* put your car up on blocks for extended periods of time.

I just came up with the idea because I vaguely recall hearing of 
someone who did this to keep the tires from deforming . . .

But I guess I'll just have to move the car around in the garage every so often.
