Amp gauge installation for E36

Dear digestors,

How to install an amp gauge for E36 S50 or M50 engine?

As I know that it sould be connect the positive from
the starter solenoid, but it is kind of hard to reach
and have to remove entire intake manifold. Does
anybody have better way or other method to install the
amp gauge?

( I've tried a combination of Jim C. chip, heat shiled
cone Air-filter and Bosch +4, it has given me an
excellent power improvment :)
