E30 Scuttle

Hi,

Wonder if someone may be able to offer some advice please.   My E30 320=
ISE needs
a new scuttle panel apparently, I have a very small rust spot in the co=
rner near
the windscreen seal and upon removal of the screen it would appear that=
 there is
more rust hidden away.   My dealer has quoted =A3700 to have the job do=
ne, the
cost doesn't really worry me it's the possible problems that could arri=
se from
such surgery, as the dash and all has to be removed etc. and I am wonde=
ring will
this job affect the integrity of the car, i.e. scuttle shake or anyothe=
r
problems that may arrise.   The car is or was in mint condition apart f=
rom this
one rust spot so am loathed to do anything that could cause other probl=
ems.

Any advice would be appreciated.
