E30 Shifter Problems and more

As a follow up to my past post -- the shifter problem is fixed. The body
shop discovered very quickly that the lower linkage had shifted forward
enough to pull the large aluminum piece out of the guide mechanism. (I don't
have my Bentley to use the proper terms because I left it with the body shop
to help them figure out the next problem) Thanks to those who previously
replied on this problem. All the information was solid and informative. It
gave me a good picture of the system and possibilities. I was also able to
converse better with the adjuster -- always a help.

Today, they finished the body work -- new left fender and new bumper. They
spliced in a new connector to the left front turn signal -- to correct the
dreaded corrosion problem I have had of a fast blinker. They also checked
and aligned the unibody -- which was off no more than 1/16 of an inch up
front. Now they are getting no spark to the coil??? From my experience, I
always review the last things I have done, but they feel pretty sure that
they did nothing to cause this condition. I did notice that my computer had
reset -- indicating they had disconnected the battery. I have had no
previous problems starting the car -- this is a new problem and
coincidental??? The fuses look and test OK. At least the main fuse box
and the small 2 fuse box beside it (which I assume is for ignition). Any
suggestions for where to look??
