Stereo Installation Questions

1)  Any thoughts/opinions on the following stereos:   Alpine CDA7839  vs. 
Blaupunkt Alaska

2)  In general, is installation difficult?

3)  Aside from connecting the wiring harness, is there an amp to wire around 
in a '99 Z3 2.3 without the HK stereo?

I'm considering replacing my BMW's stock am/fm/cassette with either of the 
above stereos and would consider and appreciate any input.  Thanks.
