95 M3 engine into a E36 1992 318is?

Wondering if anyone has experience or advice on swapping a 95 M3 (S50?) engine into a 92 318is (E36)?
The party that is selling the M3 engine is including the tranny, ecu, and harness off the 95 M3. I'm thinking that the install is mostly a straightforward bolt-on installation...plus some minor adaptation and mods to get things to fit. Are there any major hassles that people have run into or are aware of that makes this engine swap a not-to-pursue endeavor? Any major issues with getting the fuel delivery and exhaust systems to mate up?
BTW, how does this sort of engine swap affect future CA DMV registration and emission checks?
