Jefrem,
W A Y TO G O !!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a similar experience 11 yrs ago when I
brought my Integra LS do the dealer for a new clutch w/ 10Kmi on the
clock... yep - he pulled out an autoX results sheet and refused warranty
repairs... lucky for me, I went to another Acura dealer and they replaced
the clutch. However, computer systems are a helluvalot more spohisticated
now days. Ask me how I know :)
Therefore, I DO NOT AUTOCROSS NOR PARTICIPATE IN ANY COMPETITION MOTOR
SPORTS EVENTS. I drove racing gokarts last year, but the BMW Warranty would
have nothing to do with that :)

'97 M3 sedan (no autocrosses or other competition events here)

Actually, the tech reps (at least in our area, DFW, Texas) monitor the
local CCA, ER, SCCA, etc. newsletters for autocross results, looking
for "under warranty" BMWs that are participating in competition,
ostensibly to void their warranty. This is not speculation -- at
least one local member has had his warranty voided in such a manner
(tech rep produces a newsletter with his name in it). Now, we screen
our published results, and anybody under warranty is listed as "Racer
X".
