Loose driver's seat on e28

I have an '87 528e, and recently noticed that the driver's seat is loose
where it is anchored to the power seat track.  It's located at the rear
right hand corner of the seat.  I can see and feel a hinged piece of
metal with a straight edge which I suspect represents where the seat has
broken from its location on the track, but I'm really only guessing if
that's what's happened.  I'm envisioning an expensive repair.  Any
feedback or info.?
