//Mmage is nothing, obey your thirst

See that .edu in my e-mail address? It //Means "poor." My '77 e21 doesn't
care that I'm a poor college student paying my own way. It doesn't care
about the spotty 320i badges it wears. It doesn't even realize that I've
put four times what I paid for the car into performance upgrades. What I
know and what the car knows is that we love any dry road (that doesn't
have potholes).

I'm very happy for all of you //M3 owners. You've purchased a special car.
Very likely you've worked hard to arrive at the station where you have the
means to spend that kind of money on a car. But it's pitiful to hear
the same hard-working adults indulging themselves in woeful complaints
about badging.

A 3-series with M-Technic body panels, contours, Dinan suspension
upgrades, tuning and //M badges may be just an //M3 poser. But it's
probably a whole lot of fun to drive. Isn't that why you signed on to this
digest, because you know BMWs are superior driving cars, and not superior
possessions? Personally, I do not consider myself a BMW owner, but a BMW
driver with the best BMW equipment my bank account can sustain.

Cheers,
