Story seems to be that if the car has done 40K on leaded it builds up a memory 
and is OK. I use mine on unleaded (it's an '85) usually and it's OK.

As this has only 12K it's a bit different. You can fit new valve seats but if 
you're only planning on a low annual mileage I wouldn't bother.
