<E36> Help! false alarms

I have a 1994 325IS with the factory alarm. Recently, the alarm started
to go on for no good reason, usually within and hour after being set.

My guess was a voltage drop due to a bad battery, but this does not seem
to be the case - the battery is about a year old and maintains sufficient 
voltage.

Please let me know if you have an idea on what the problem may be.
