88 M3 Stereo/alarm installation

I'm torn between doing a stereo and alarm install myself or just having a
qualified 
shop do the work. Part of the problem is the "qualified shop" issue, given
that 
there are not that many old M3's out there. Does anyone know of a good 
car audio shop in the south SF Bay area that has worked on an older M3 ????
Or if the distinction between models is not really that significant, then a
shop 
that has worked with the older 3 series ....
