<e30> Power mirror Glass removal
Hi
I have a bum motor in the drivers side power mirror (1987 325IS). The
Bentley book shows how you can stick a screw driver in an access hole in the
bottom of the mirror to remove the mirror glass. It looks to be some sort of
plastic locking ring.
I have this mirror off the car and even have the front half of the mirror
frame removed. For the life of me I could not budge this locking ring. I see
it just fine and I even see the notches in the ring that they put there to
pry on.
Is there any secret to this? If the mirror moved at all I would just push it
to where I want it and call it a day, but it is frozen in place (a bad
place). I was hoping to remove the glass and try and free up or replace the
motor.
TIPs please.
Thanks

1988 325IS, (to much to list), should have stayed the street car.
1987 325IS, project, should have been the track car.
