BMW Drive Gatherings in DC Area

I know that there are many members on this list who live in the 
Baltimore-Washington area so...

Is there ever a gathering of BMW owners to just get together and drive 
on a Saturday or Sunday?  Similar to a club tour, but not as formal. 
Just a day where we head for a remote destination, semi-caravan style, 
enjoy the ride and hang out at the destination (a park, a restaurant, 
etc.) for awhile.  They could be more family-oriented events.  For 
example, in the past there have been club events to VA to watch the 
stunt airplanes.

I understand that Z3 owners in our area have done this fairly 
frequently, but I'm not sure who coordinates these driving tours.  I 
believe that some M3 owners have also gathered for a group drive, too.

The NCC of BMWCCA only has one formal tour on the schedule this year.
