Looking to buy an e36.... Any major problems?

Dear Sirs/Madams;

I am looking to buy an e36 318is or something to that effect. Can anyone
recommend a year or tell me which years to be weary of? I have heard
that early
e36s had problems... Any suggestions? If possible, please reply direct,
as well
as posting on to digest, (I don't always have time to read the digest)
