E30 Swap of differential question...

I'm looking at swapping out my stock differential in my '86 325es with
either a 3.25(from a 535I) or 3.46(from either a 528E or 635CSI) L/S
differential.  My question is what will the difference be between these
two? I'm assuming the 3.46 will have a little more pep with less top
speed, but I'm interested on the specifics if anybody knows and their
recommendations/suggestions.  I'd like to get the greatest acceleration
possible and still be able to reach 120mph under redline with Jim C.
