O2 sensor in headers

Hello,

last week I got Sebring headers for my M20/B27 engine and want to install
them.
The problem is that the headers are for non CAT engines and don't have an O2
sensor hole.
Question:
will the O2 sensor work if only installed in one of the 2 3cyl. headers or
is it better
to watch all 6cyl together (both 3cyl collection pipes). In this case it
would be much
more difficult to install and weld the threaded hole to both collectors.
